Is a Seville to Ronda Day Trip Worth It?

Short answer: yes, Ronda is worth a day trip from Seville if you have a spare day. It is about 80 miles (129 km) away, roughly 2 hours each way by car or direct bus, while there is no direct train.

  • Distance: 128–129 km (about 80 miles) by road, on the A-375 and A-374.
  • Driving time: about 2 hours each way.
  • Bus: Damas runs direct buses, four a day on weekdays and three at weekends, taking 1 h 45 min to 2 h 50 min for €15.57 one way. The last bus back leaves Ronda at 6:30 pm.
  • Train: no direct service. Renfe connections change once, in Córdoba or Antequera, and take about 3½ to 4 hours.
  • Easiest way: a guided day trip with transport included, so nobody in your group has to drive; a private one can add a white village such as Setenil de las Bodegas.

How Do You Get from Seville to Ronda?

1. By car: about 2 hours

Driving is the most flexible option. Ronda is about 80 miles (128–129 km) from Seville by road, and Google Maps puts the drive at about 2 hours each way on the A-375 and A-374 through the Sierra de Grazalema. It is a scenic route, perfect if you want to stop in white villages like Zahara de la Sierra or Grazalema along the way.

2. By bus: about 2 hours, the cheapest option

Damas runs direct buses to Ronda from both of Seville's main bus stations, Plaza de Armas and Prado de San Sebastián: four departures on weekdays and three at weekends. Depending on the departure, the trip takes 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours 50 minutes, and a one-way ticket costs €15.57. For a day trip, the 10:15 am direct bus from Prado de San Sebastián gets to Ronda at 12:15 pm, and the last bus back leaves Ronda at 6:30 pm. Book online in high season, especially for the morning departures.

3. By train: no direct train, about 3½ to 4 hours

There is no direct train from Seville to Ronda. Renfe connections from Seville Santa Justa need one change, usually in Córdoba or Antequera, and take about 3½ to 4 hours. On a weekday in November 2026, the 7:51 am train reached Ronda at 11:34 am, and late-afternoon connections got back to Seville at about 8:30–9 pm. It is the slowest option, but the final stretch has lovely views of the Andalusian countryside.

4. By guided tour: the easiest day trip

For stress-free travel, a guided Seville to Ronda day tour is the best choice: round-trip transport, a knowledgeable local guide and no planning. Most tours also stop in other Pueblos Blancos (White Villages), such as Setenil de las Bodegas, making the day even richer.
