✈️ New International Flight Connections to Seville: Your Perfect Travel Opportunity

If you're planning a trip to Andalusia, now is a fantastic time to consider visiting Seville. The city’s airport, Aeropuerto de Sevilla – San Pablo (SVQ), has just launched a number of new international routes for the winter season; meaning more direct access, better prices, and increased ease for travellers looking to explore Seville and its surroundings.

In this blog post we’ll detail the new flight connections, what they mean for you as a traveller, and how you can pair your arrival with outstanding tours in Seville and the nearby city of Córdoba thanks to the team at Altai Turismo.

🛫 What’s new at Seville Airport

Here are the key changes you should know:

  • For winter 2025/2026, Seville Airport is expanding its international route offering. According to one report, the airport will have six new international routes spanning Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland and France.

  • Specifically, the airline easyJet has inaugurated four new direct routes connecting Seville with:

    • Berlin (Germany)

    • Lyon (France)

    • Milan (Malpensa) (Italy)

    • Amsterdam (Netherlands)

These routes are part of the winter schedule and each will operate with multiple weekly frequencies.

  • The expansion represents a significant capacity boost:  easyJet has increased capacity by around 58% at Seville for the winter season compared to last year, adding more than 80,000 additional seats.

  • Another carrier, Ryanair, also announced new winter destinations from Seville: two new routes to Poland (Warsaw and Wrocław/Breslavia) plus extra flights to places like Turin, Rabat, Oporto.

What this means for travellers:

  • More options for direct flights into Seville, reducing the need for layovers.

  • Better access from Northern and Central Europe (Germany, Netherlands, France, Italy).

  • Potentially better fares (winter schedule often means promotional seats).

  • Good timing to plan a mid-season trip (late autumn, winter) when crowds are lower and weather still mild.

📍 Why Seville is an even better destination now

With improved connectivity, Seville becomes easier to reach; and the destination itself offers rich rewards:

  • Seville is vibrant year-round: rich with history (Alcázar, Cathedral, Santa Cruz), Andalusian culture (flamenco, tapas, lively plazas) and mild-weather winters that make it ideal for travel off the summer heat and spring peak.

  • With the new flight connections from European cities, visitors from those places (Berlin, Amsterdam, Lyon, Milan, etc.) can get there more conveniently.

  • Combining Seville with nearby destinations becomes more viable: for example, taking a short trip to Córdoba or other Andalusian towns makes sense when you fly into Seville.

🏛️ Tours to pair with your arrival: Seville - Córdoba

Once you’ve landed in Seville, maximize your experience with guided tours. We recommend our excellent local guides at Altai Turismo and offer a couple of standout options:

Seville tours

  • Explore the heart of Seville: historic quarter, the majestic Royal Alcázar of Seville, the Gothic-Renaissance Seville Cathedral (where the Giralda tower rises), stroll through Barrio de Santa Cruz.

  • For first-time visitors: early arrival + afternoon walking tour = hit the major sights before dinner (Seville’s nightlife is late!).

  • Suggestion for travellers: choose a tour that includes tickets to enter the major monuments (saves you from sold out places).

Córdoba day trips

  • With Seville as your base, one of the best excursions is to Córdoba: just about 1 h30 away by high-speed train or private transfer.

  • Highlights: Mezquita‑Catedral de Córdoba (a unique mosque-cathedral hybrid), the old Jewish quarter, Roman bridge and patios.

  • Suggestion: plan your Córdoba visit mid-morning, then enjoy lunch in Córdoba and return to Seville in the evening for tapas and a leisurely stroll.

📅 Suggested Travel Itinerary: Seville + Córdoba Weekend

Here’s a sample itinerary that uses the new flight connections + local tours:

Day 1 (Arrival in Seville):

  • Fly into Seville Airport via one of the new direct routes (e.g., Berlin, Amsterdam).

  • Check in to your hotel in Seville historic centre. Late afternoon walk through Barrio de Santa Cruz. Evening: enjoy tapas, local flair.

Day 2 (Seville full day):

  • Morning guided tour with Altai Turismo: Royal Alcázar + Seville Cathedral + Giralda.

  • Afternoon: explore the Metropol Parasol (Las Setas) and riverfront. Evening: sample local flamenco show.

Day 3 (Córdoba excursion):

  • Depart early for Córdoba via organised tour or private transport. Visit Mezquita-Catedral, the old town, patios. Lunch in Córdoba.

  • Return to Seville in the evening.

Day 4 (Departure or further exploration):

  • If you have more time: choose a slower morning, perhaps visit Triana neighbourhood or shop for local crafts. Depart via Seville Airport.

🔍 Tips for booking & travel

  • Check flight availability: Because these routes are new and capacity is increased, book early for the best fares.

  • Select tour operator ahead: Especially during high-interest dates (e.g. local festivities in Seville in December), booking Altai Turismo ahead ensures your spots.

  • Best time to go: With winter routes in place, late autumn or early winter is a smart choice; milder weather than summer, less crowding, good value.

  • Getting around: Seville’s historic centre is very walkable; hire transport for day trips (to Córdoba).

  • Pack smart: Even in winter, Seville can be mild by day but cooler at night, layering is wise. For Córdoba, if you plan to walk the old quarter, comfortable shoes are a must.

✅ In summary

The expansion of international flight routes into Seville marks a key moment for travellers: new direct connections, improved convenience, and the chance to explore Seville plus the Andalusian region with ease.

Pairing your travel with well-organised tours; especially through Altai Turismo; allows you to hit the highlights of Seville and Córdoba in a seamless, memorable way.
